Project Management Officer responsibilities and job description

  • Supporting program and project managers in managing projects from contract acceptance to invoicing.
  • Entering projects, contracts, and activities into internal analytical, planning, and controlling systems (CRP, ERP) based on knowledge of contract terms.
  • Controlling staff time spent on the project and monitoring the optimal use of all project resources.
  • Preparation of reports, evaluations and ad-hoc analyses of key project performance indicators.
  • Monthly closing and preparation of documents for the billing department for entrusted projects.
  • Controlling financial costs in projects and communicating with the company’s billing and controlling department.
  • Written and telephone communication with customers in German.
  • Preparation of the agenda, documents, organization of internal and customer meetings and preparation of protocols.
  • A proactive approach to improving our project management standards and processes, with responsibility for implementing standard methods and tools across all assigned projects.
  • Administrative tasks related to the project (onboarding, document management, updating mail groups, creating and updating Confluence pages for the project).

  • Work experience in a similar position in an IT company or financial institutions is an advantage.

The main role of the Project Management Officer is to support the Project and Program Managers in the assigned projects. The PMO role is involved in project support, planning, and provides administration in various IT systems. The PMO prepares reports and is the first point of contact for the entire project team.

The Project Management Officer at msg life Slovakia does not require expertise in the insurance industry. Professional experience in a similar position in IT companies or financial institutions is, of course, a great advantage, but the door is also open to candidates with experience in other areas.

As a Project Management Officer, you will primarily need advanced knowledge of Excel and Office 365, as well as a general overview in the areas of accounting, financial controlling, and project management. At msg life Slovakia, the requirements for a Project Officer are mainly language skills in German (B2) and English (B1), which you will use in your daily communication. Experience with office software tools such as Jira, Team Collaboration, and Confluence are welcome.

The salary of PMO jobs in the job market depends on several factors, such as previous work experience or acquired knowledge in PMO project management. The starting salary in the job market can start from €2,100 for junior candidates.
