WHAT’S WAITING FOR YOU?

Your work duties and responsibilities include:

  • Analysis and solution design – You participate in analysing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and designing application architecture in Java.
  • Development and system maintenance – You develop new modules, extend existing functionality, and ensure their smooth and stable operation.
  • Code quality and testing – You ensure solution quality through unit and regression tests, code reviews, and process automation.
  • Collaboration and knowledge sharing – You work closely with colleagues, share your expertise, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Documentation – You create and maintain both technical and user documentation for the solutions you build.
  • Development coordination – When needed, you take ownership of a team or the technical workstream of a project, guiding colleagues and supporting their professional growth.

Technologies and tools you may encounter:

  • Languages and frameworks: Java 11, Java 17, Java 21, Spring, Maven
  • Build, deployment and integration: Nexus, JBoss, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Web services and cloud: SOAP/REST Web Services, Cloud
  • Databases: DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • IDEs and version control: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Windows OS, Git (Bitbucket)
  • Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365

Requirements for the applicant

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Key skills (MUST HAVE):

  • Completed education or degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of hands-on Java development experience
  • Practical experience with software architecture design
  • Fluent German (minimum C1)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement

We also appreciate (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and the insurance industry
  • Upper-intermediate English (minimum B2)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to international workshops or project meetings (approx. 10 days per year)

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary from €3,100 gross per month – the exact amount depends on your experience and will be mutually agreed
