Keyboard shortcuts are one of them, and they can make watching videos more enjoyable by allowing us to control video playback without using the mouse. Here’s an overview of some of the most useful keyboard shortcuts on YouTube.

Basic YouTube keyboard shortcuts
Spacebar: The Spacebar button is used to start or pause playback if the seek bar is active (as it is otherwise used to scroll the seek bar), or to activate the button if it is in focus.
Play/Pause Media Key on the keyboard: key to play/pause video on the keyboard.
k: The “k” key pauses or starts video playback.
m: The “m” key will mute/unmute the video audio.
Navigation and fast scrolling
Left/Right arrow on seek bar: these arrows on the keyboard allow you to fast forward or rewind the video by 5 seconds.
j: The “j” key puts you back 10 seconds.
l: The “l” key advances you by 10 seconds.
.: If you pause the video, you can use this button to skip to the next frame.
,: If you pause the video, this button takes you to the previous frame.
>: Use this button to speed up video playback.

Home/End on the seek bar: these keys take you to the beginning or end of the video.

Precise time shifting
Numbers 1 to 9: You can use these numbers to jump directly to a specific time position in the video, for example the number “5” will move you to 50% of the video.
Number 0: The “0” key takes you to the beginning of the video.
Search and navigation
/: The “/” key will take you directly to the search window.
f: Use this button to activate full screen mode. If you are already in full screen mode, press “F” again or press “Esc” on your keyboard to return to normal mode.
c: Press “c” on the keyboard to activate or deactivate subtitles, if available.
Go to the next and previous video
Shift+N: Press “Shift” + “N” on your keyboard to go to the next video. If you’re using a playlist, go to the next video in the playlist. If you’re not in the playlist, go to the next recommended YouTube video.
Shift+P: Press “Shift” + “P” on your keyboard to return to the previous video. It should be added that this shortcut only works when viewing the playlist.
Miniplayer
i: Press “i” on your keyboard to open the mini-player, which allows you to view the video in a smaller window in the corner of the screen.
