Job Description

WHAT’S WAITING FOR YOU?

Your work duties and responsibilities include:

  • Technical project leadership – You take ownership of projects from planning and controlling through to resource coordination. You are responsible for the technical, software, and architectural aspects, particularly on mid-sized projects.
  • Architecture and solution design – You shape the technical architecture for our customers. On the msg.Insurance Suite platform, you coordinate customer-specific processes, technical environments, and system and software architecture. You also contribute to solution design in modern cloud architectures (primarily AWS) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • System integration – You design and oversee the integration of our solutions into customer environments – from architectural design through to successful deployment.
  • Workshops and technical communication – You become a trusted partner for the customer. You lead workshops, prepare technical presentations, and communicate with middle management.

The technologies and tools you’ll work with:

  • Languages and frameworks: Java EE, Spring, Maven, Jenkins
  • Application servers: WildFly, JBoss
  • Integration architecture: SOA, ESB
  • Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2
  • Cloud and infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, ERP, Microsoft 365 (incl. Microsoft Teams)

Requirements for the applicant

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Key skills (MUST HAVE):

  • Master’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Advanced experience from application development projects
  • Background in software development or architectural consulting
  • Experience in technical project leadership or co-leadership
  • Ability to work with stack traces and identify and permanently resolve issues
  • Strong command of IT methodologies, OOP design, programming, software architecture, data modelling, and databases
  • Hands-on experience with JEE, build infrastructure, security, load and performance analysis, cloud (primarily AWS), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and continuous delivery
  • Knowledge of integration architectures – ideally including integration of msg.Insurance Suite into complex customer environments
  • Experience in API design with a focus on functional and maintainable solutions
  • Upper-intermediate German (minimum B2)
  • Upper-intermediate English (B2)

We also appreciate (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Experience in the insurance industry (e.g. policy administration)
  • Knowledge of Model Driven Architecture
  • Analytical thinking and systematic problem-solving
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Experience with traditional or agile methodologies
  • Willingness to work on-site at customer locations occasionally

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary from €4,000 gross per month – the exact amount depends on your experience and will be mutually agreed
