Job Requirements for the position of Unix Linux System Administrator
- Several years of work experience in complex Unix systems administration (Linux, AIX) in a global data center environment.
- Good knowledge in Linux and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Understanding cloud applications.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, orchestration and configuration management.
- Knowledge of network and infrastructure services (DNS, VLAN, firewalling).
- Experience with monitoring, configuration and visualization tools (Check-mk, Ansible, GIT, Grafana).
- Knowledge of application and server virtualization, storage management (Netapp, Dell).
- Active Directory – basics.
- Good communication skills in German and English (at least B2 level).
- Independence, responsibility, reliability and team spirit.
Tasks for the position of Unix Linux System Administrator
- Administration of Unix/Linux server infrastructure based on physical and virtual machines.
- Responsibility for central Unix update management for server systems.
- Responsibility for backup and data storage operations (Netapp, Dell EMC2 Networker).
- Creating a reliable and efficient interface between IT “operations” and software development, analyzing requirements and seamlessly delivering our services.
- Level 2 support, resolving error “tickets” and requests from our project areas.
- Ensuring smooth operation and compliance with security and data protection regulations.
- Creation and updating of system documentation.
- Embracing, creating and implementing change in the work environment.
