Job Requirements for the position of Unix Linux System Administrator

• Several years of work experience in complex Unix systems administration (Linux, AIX) in a global data center environment.
• Good knowledge in Linux and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Understanding cloud applications.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, orchestration and configuration management.
• Knowledge of network and infrastructure services (DNS, VLAN, firewalling).
• Experience with monitoring, configuration and visualization tools (Check-mk, Ansible, GIT, Grafana).
• Knowledge of application and server virtualization, storage management (Netapp, Dell).
• Active Directory – basics.
• Good communication skills in German and English (at least B2 level).
• Independence, responsibility, reliability and team spirit.

Tasks for the position of Unix Linux System Administrator

• Administration of Unix/Linux server infrastructure based on physical and virtual machines.
• Responsibility for central Unix update management for server systems.
• Responsibility for backup and data storage operations (Netapp, Dell EMC2 Networker).
• Creating a reliable and efficient interface between IT “operations” and software development, analyzing requirements and seamlessly delivering our services.
• Level 2 support, resolving error “tickets” and requests from our project areas.
• Ensuring smooth operation and compliance with security and data protection regulations.
• Creation and updating of system documentation.
• Embracing, creating and implementing change in the work environment.
