Questions and answers

Business & Integration IT consultant proposes optimal solutions for the customer to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. As a technical consultant for life insurance, you are responsible for creating expert concepts and integrating our information system into customers’ information systems, as well as providing support and advice during its deployment.

Your tasks include working with Jira and analyzing requests and checking customer tickets, actively communicating with the development and test department and, of course, with our customers.

Above all, it is important that you have analytical and logical thinking and technical skills. You can also do without excellent communication and organisational skills and IT knowledge. An overview of the insurance industry will also be useful.

You will need creativity, team spirit and attention to detail. You will use these qualities especially in business process automation, i.e. the automation of business processes and workflows.

This position also involves frequent meetings with customers, developers and testers, so it’s important to take a proactive approach to problem solving and be prepared to lead discussions. As part of your soft skills, you’ll also need a diplomatic approach and the ability to build good relationships with customers. A friendly and professional approach is essential, but assertiveness is also needed – you need to be able to set your boundaries so that collaboration is effective and customers respect the terms agreed. Customer satisfaction and the quality of the service we provide is our top priority.

Knowledge of German at C1 level is more than welcome, but not essential. It is important to be able to work with the German language and be able to understand difficult technical texts related to insurance jargon or laws. It is therefore necessary that you ask for details in case of any ambiguities and are able to understand the context correctly.

In the future, however, we expect you to be able to draft technical documents in German and to communicate actively with German colleagues and customers.

English is an advantage in this position. As we are an international company, you will certainly encounter it in your work.

Active Java programming is not required for this position. However, it is more than helpful if you have at least a basic understanding of Java – that is, if you understand code and can understand how different application processes work. Knowing how to read code will allow you to navigate situations where you need to analyze solutions and communicate with programmers, even if programming is not your main role.

As an integration consultant, you will work with different types of interfaces to connect systems and enable efficient data exchange. The main interfaces you will encounter include SOAP and REST Webservices.

As part of your role, you will also be involved in the preparation of technical documentation in German that details these interfaces in the form of functional specifications. This documentation will include details on methods, message formats, authentication and other technical parameters. The main objective is to link the technical requirements of the clients and the development team so that the integration of the systems will be carried out according to well-defined requirements.

In your work you will encounter different types of databases, such as Oracle and DB2. You don’t have to be an expert in writing complex SQL statements, but it is an advantage if you can at least navigate the databases . More complex SQL queries are usually handled by developers, but a basic knowledge of databases and familiarity with data models will help you better understand the context and problems you’ll be working with.
