Tasks for Java programmer junior

  • Analysis of requirements, design and agile development of software solutions in the field of life, non-life and health insurance, as well as various support systems (Partner, Billing).
  • Bug fixes, Code Reviews as well as implementation of unit or regression tests.
  • Creation and updating of technical and business documentation.
  • CI/CD

Technologies and tools a junior Java programmer works with

  • Java 11, Spring, Maven, Websphere, JBoss, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, SOAP/REST Webservices, Cloud
  • Databases: DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Static code analysis: SonarQube
  • Development environment:Eclipse, Windows OS, GIT (Bitbucket)
  • Collaboration:Jira, Confluence, Office 365, Teams Collaboration

Job Requirements for the position of Junior Java Programmer

  • First experience programming in Java, no work experience in software companies required.
  • If you don’t have experience with all the technologies we use, we also appreciate your willingness to master the technologies used in professional programming.
  • Ability to work in an international team, autonomy, accuracy, responsibility.
  • A willingness to learn, a high degree of personal initiative and a solution orientation.
  • Good communication skills in English (at least B2 level).
  • Advantages: knowledge of the German language, experience in software development for the insurance sector and experience in an agile way of working.
