Job Description

Your work duties and responsibilities include:

  • Varied areas of work – Depending on your skills, you work on a range of topics – from software development through data analysis and working with AI to testing and consulting activities.
  • Insurance projects – You contribute to IT projects in the insurance industry.
  • Communication in German – You communicate with your team and our customers in German and translate their requirements into modern IT solutions.
  • Professional and language development – You continuously develop your technical skills and your German – and we support you in doing so.
  • Teamwork – You become a full member of a team that designs and delivers technical solutions.
  • Workshops and training – Depending on your area of focus, you take part in workshops, presentations, and training sessions held in German.
  • Project methodologies – You gain valuable experience with both agile methods and the traditional waterfall methodology.

The technologies and tools you’ll work with:

  • Software development: Java, Spring, Maven, WebSphere, JBoss, Jenkins
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
  • Databases and integration: SQL, DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Testing and automation: Selenium, Tosca, Eclipse, XML tools (PSPad, Beyond Compare)
  • AI and data: Python (pandas, NumPy), scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NLP libraries, working with data pipelines, MLOps fundamentals, GitHub
  • Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365 (including Microsoft Teams)

Requirements for the applicant

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Key skills (MUST HAVE):

  • Completed secondary education or ongoing/completed university studies, ideally in information technology, mathematics, or a related field
  • Upper-intermediate German (minimum B2)
  • Hands-on experience with the technologies listed above – in line with your area of focus
  • Logical and analytical thinking, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and attention to detail
  • A systematic approach to problem-solving and active communication with customers and within the team
  • Motivation to grow and to actively contribute to the development of our solutions and products

We also appreciate (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Experience or education in the insurance industry, which will help you find your way into our field more quickly
  • Experience with machine learning projects (e.g. classification, prediction, NLP, automation of decision-making processes)
  • A basic understanding of generative AI or LLM tools

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary from €1,300 gross per month – the exact amount depends on your experience and will be mutually agreed
